Working with an Unpleasant Boss

Does this sound familiar? Has this caused you to call in sick, felt unmotivated or so stressed that it has lead to health problems? You are not alone. This is the case for most of us.

So how can you get around working with an unpleasant boss?

I suggest you to try this simple experiment each day for the next 30 days. Take one day at the time and it will certainly improve your predicament. You may also ask a work colleague to join you who’s in the same position.

Let’s begin; re-evaluate your job. Get your pen & paper. List all what’s good about your job or your company. If you can’t think of any, that’s OK. Then list all what’s not so good about your job. List as many as you can.

The key is to take action.

Every thing has negative and a positive. There are always two sides to the coin. There is a flipside. You can either fall in the trap and continually blame the boss or change the outcome by developing a positive attitude. The choice is yours.

After reading the negative list, you can change the scenario by changing your thinking, changing your feelings, changing your perspective, changing your attitude, which will lead to changing your actions. This will most certainly lead to positive thoughts and a better result.

Don’t fall into the blame game for making you miserable. It could lead you into a downward spiral of negativity, sadness and despair. Do the exercises for 30 days, conquer your negative thoughts, and ultimately conquer your boss!

Exercise…
Read your positive ideas twice a day for 30 days. This will help you develop a better relationship with your boss and work colleagues. The more you act upon this, the stronger you will develop a better relationship with your boss and lead to a positive attitude and inner peace and satisfaction. I dare you to try.
